Community Kitchen

The BMSS Community Kitchen initiative works to support families in our school and wider community and to provide for those suffering hardship. From serving free breakfast to students every Tuesday morning of the school term, to hosting regular ‘cook-ups’ to prepare meals for those in need, the Community Kitchen is all about showing love and support through food, altruism and genuine care.

We’d love a hand at our upcoming Community Kitchen Cook-Up if you can spare the time! Check out the details below and consider lending a hand if you can – all you need is a pair of closed in shoes and a big heart 😊

Donations

Can't help at a cook-up or keen to contribute to the Community Kitchen cause in other ways? Consider donating goods or funds to help stock our cook-ups and events. Contributions of food goods (see list on this site) and gift vouchers (for supermarkets to purchase meat and fresh produce) are warmly welcomed and very much appreciated. 

Food Items Sought For Donation:

  • Tin tomato crushed

  • Tomato paste

  • Jasmine Rice

  • Basmati Rice

  • Pasta (spirals, penne or macaroni)

  • Lasagne sheets

  • Cereals (weetbix, sultana bran, rice bubbles, oats)

  • Vegemite

  • Squeeze honey

  • Long Life milk 1lt

  • Gift vouchers for supermarkets

Please drop-off food items to the BMSS Banksia Cafe anytime Monday-Friday during the school term.
